rabskyline Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 just replaced the recirc valve with a bailey one that i hade bought from the scientist for my wagon ! i need an L pipe to fit properly but it chatters away nicely ! sounds fantastic ! even the recirc one chattered but quieter ! funnily enough steve said it didnt chatter on his ?? strange ! this sounds the doggies and adds to the persona of the car !

rabskyline Posted July 24, 2006 Author Posted July 24, 2006 es boys! i can yap !!! as for the dump valve , i think i havent done it properly as it drives like a plug now and the check engine light came on !lol ! can someone tell me if its fitted correctly ! it sounds great revved on the drive but when i drive it there is no power. the car is very low on fuel though too !i'll post pics ! i think it possibly fuel now that i think of it but have a look at the pic !

rabskyline Posted July 24, 2006 Author Posted July 24, 2006 no this pipe was like this when i got it ! i think it was something that isnt needed now since the fmic was fitted ! but col, the hose clip isnt on right as the hose needs a 90 deg bend to suit its position. its ok when idling but the power is down when driving along the road but there is practicaly no fuel in her and the check engine light came on. could this be down to low fuel pressure since its nearly empty ?

Man that IS your issue, you have an insanely huge boost leak caused by the short samco hose that attaches to it not being attached properly, no pressure = no notes, dont know enough about the cars yet to advise on the CEL but it might have something do with lack of boost pressure
rabskyline Posted July 24, 2006 Author Posted July 24, 2006 ye know i think you are right ! the pipe isnt right and it does need a 990 deg pipe to make good. this might also cause the cel as it wasnt doing it b4. but i cant run it about too much as there is no tax mot yet ! .

rabskyline Posted July 24, 2006 Author Posted July 24, 2006 the valve is coming off ! i am not getting full boost and the cel is on. bugger ! it sounds great too. maybe i havent fitted it properly , ie, on the right part of the intercooler pipes etc. i put a new elbow on it today and checked it all over but not boosting well. it was in direct replacement of the recirculating on aswell ? any you guys got a fmic with a vta bov fitted ?
Edinburgh-Chris Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 A picture of mine mate. You have a crap connection. When it comes to a front mount/ BOV all connectinos need to be sealed well or the internal pressure will expose this at all times. Ie. Crap boost and most likely a CEL on display.
