william_young Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 just a quick question i fitted a bailys dump valve yesterday and it worked ok. i took the car to pick up the missus and stopped at tescos. when i got back in it wasnt working so check when i got home all the pipes were ok they hadnt falling off, but the valve itself was boiling hot i let it cool and fitted it again then, tried it and it worked fine. now went out today and worked ok , done what i had to do got back to the car and it wasnt working again . has this happen to anyone or does it sound like a faulty valve . also should it dump when i rev the car ie just sitting not actually moving . thanks for any answers its beat me billy
jcscoob Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 I used to have a baily ages ago and it worked under all sort of condtions/ubuse so doesnt sound right to me, and no dump when just reving !
rabskyline Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 can you adjust the spring on bailey valves ? do they cause chatter too ?
drb5 Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 I'm getting rid of my Baileys recirc as it screeches on boost and causes a stall sometimes when coming off the accelerator. Rab, it can chatter yes, but it's a mixture of air filter, intercooler, turbo, boost, dump valve/spring, etc, etc. You can't adjust anything on this Baileys dv....apart from throwing it away, which i intend to do, when i have my new Forge dv here.
