HOL Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Nice write up. And good power for some basic mods. I remember my first BRD remap. It was in heavy rain and there was not a lot of grip [] When it did get some, the clutch had enough and started to slip. Even in the dry, its a bit disconcerting. Back there this Saturday in fact. []
New_scooby_05 Posted July 7, 2006 Author Posted July 7, 2006 Yep, Bob, David and I were all impressed with the result. It was viciously hot on Sat (about 30-32 degrees ambient) so probably not the ideal conditions in which to map a car and the traffic was certainly steady, but the car shrugged it off and Bob worked his magic. It goes like Stink now. On the Dual carriageway where the mapping took place I recall one moment where Bob was setting up for a forth gear run, I indicated and pulled into the right lane and noticed a lovely black Lotus Exige doing the same in my rear view mirror. Bob (who would have been concentrating on the laptop and det cans) gave me the nod to do a WOT run and I fully expected the Lotus to give chase, thinking I wanted to play.......He indicated and pulled back into the left lane....Of course, this might have had nothing whatsoever to do with the rate at which the car now accelerated with the VF35 fully lit in 4th.......but I like to think that the Lotus got a bit of a surprise! HOL Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 I never have anything like that happen to me. [] The most exciting bit was going round and round a small roundabout waiting for a gap on the sliproad, so I could nail it full throttle from second to sixth.
