Auldy Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Some help people..... When in any gear and plant the throttle or even jus ease the throttle on up untill bout 3500/4000 the car pulls fine but after that the revs shoot up. i thot it maybe clutch slipping but it would do this all the time not just when it hits this rev band. read an article on subarus while back and it said something about the engine being on its way out if this was hapning?? any feedback would b appreciated [Y]
Edinburgh-Chris Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Either that or the boost is set at a stupid level....ie far too high! If you incorrectly plumb in the boost solenoid valve, this can also cause the revs to "Shoot up". Don't jump to conclusions yet mate, it might be a simple case of a loose hose whereby there is nothing regulating the turbo. Have a good look under the bonnet at all the hoses on the left hand side......follow them all and check each connection. Cheers, Chris
Auldy Posted June 24, 2006 Author Posted June 24, 2006 Cheers mate, the scoob is of the road anyways for a couple of wks before fast and modified for body work prep, so will give the engine a gd goin over while its in the garage []
Auldy Posted June 24, 2006 Author Posted June 24, 2006 Had the beast in the garage and gave it a once over. found a few loose, worn & split pipes, which were causing the problems. gd excuse for 2 order up the bad boy coloured samco hoses []
