Succes Stories - Thiefs!

Hi All,

Having read a few articles recently of people getting cars nicked, vandalised etc i wondered if anyone had any succes stories of catch such people, getting there cars back, police catching them etc.

I had a great one about 5 years ago:

I was living with my brother who had a Nova GTI in black Mint condition and totally standard. Boy Racers dream.  He went out of the house one morning on his way to work and came back about 5 minutes later telling me that someone had nicked the front of his car.  The bumper and most of the front of the car was gone with just a few screws lying on the floor.  We could not believe it but started to put the word around to everyone we knew but did not hold out much hope.

About 3 months passed (police did not get anywhere) and we get a phone call from a chap at a garage.  "Are you the chap who had the front of his car nicked a while ago?" On replying yes, it turned out that a little scum back had brought in his battered Nova (in prima of course) with a shinning black bumper.  My brother could not beleive but agreed to head down to take a look.

Knowing the car so well he also knew where all the little marks were and was able to prove it was his almost instantly.  The garage man had no idea who my brother was but remembered it being nicked before and kept it in mind.  (nice chap)

To cut a longer story short....

The garage man had the scum bags Name, Address and telephone number  

The police eventually arrested him and as you would expect, denied the whole thing as he had 2 witnesses. In the interview with him and his dad, the copper said "look, we know he did it and if he does not admit it we will nick him for everything wrong with his car".  The dad saw the light and the scum bag admitted it.

However, he then said "I did it but it was not just me but i am not telling anyone else's name" 

To which the policeman said " i dont think you need to tell us there names.  You gave us 2 witnesses earlier, we will get them in".

Needless to say, bumper was returned, damages were paid and the 3 scum bags were all given criminal records.

Criminal records dont stop them though []

We need to break body parts, fingers then toes and eventually working

up to arm and legs []  if they dont learn then maybe the neck

too []

People work so hard to buy nice cars and those few who dont give a shit

just take it all away.  This spoils it for us because although

were insured ( i hope [] ) we are the ones who get the increased

insurance premiums etc

Give us ten minutes with them and i bet they wont do it again [6]

Ten minutes is a bit much []..................they'd be paralysed after two [Y][6]
