scoobyfuzzy Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 noticed the other day that the key doesnt lock in the igniton barrel, ignition was on and car was running and the key can be taken out of the barrel, the key does look quite worn, if i got another key cut, would it stop this from happening, or will i need to get another barrel? if anyone knows. cheers fuzzy
bigdavie Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 try your spare mate ?? if not get another cut it's only a couple of quid innit ?!!
scoobyfuzzy Posted June 12, 2006 Author Posted June 12, 2006 hi mate, not got a spare, need to get 1 anyway, mayb try a key cut first n c wot happens. cheers fuzzy
scoobyfuzzy Posted June 12, 2006 Author Posted June 12, 2006 also, i take it theres a number in the barrel itself to get a key cut, and will i need to get it done at subaru themselves, or anyone else do keycuts for subarus? ccheers fuzzy
bigdavie Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 well if your original key is actually goosed right enough the transponder in your key should fit into any generic blank ! and yes if you get the serial no from the barrel then yeah subaru can help you but with low tech keys like these i reckon you can be helped almost anywhere you see a cobbler !! hth mate !
