paddy247 Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 I do open up my car on the back roads and I enjoy it One thing I always remember is, there is no such thing as safe conditions, One phrase to remember/use is RISK ASSESSMENT, Although this wont garantee your saftey either, only make you more aware of the dangers ahead and the likley hood of somthing going wrong pertaining to the speeds on which decide to travel. Have you done your RISK ASSESSMENT latley? it migh slow you down a bit on certain streches of roads. Its bad if you take your self out, but if you take somone else out, then no words can really describe that.
philip_wilson Posted June 8, 2006 Author Posted June 8, 2006 Fook me it’s like being at the safety meeting at workreading some of the p1sh posted about the first video clip.

The post was not directed at you Philip, just a general statment m8 Water of a ducks back m8, I do find some of the points relevant last thing anybody wants is something to go wrong and be involved in a fatal RTA. I know what it’s like to lose family member due to RTA and the last thing I want to do is put my family through it (again) or someone else’s. The thing is some people take thing to far, if I was to have posted a clip doing the ¼ mile at Crail or a lap of K/H flat out it would be a different story, but with it being on a public road and one with bends some people have started to try and guess the speed the car was going, as some people do they start too over reacting and making up speeds and a list of thing the could of happened. The fact is the average speed on the journey did not exceed the national speed limit. THE THING WE ALL HAVE TO REMEMBER IS IT'S NOT SPEED THAT KILLS IT'S BAD DRIVING
slo2 Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 THE THING WE ALL HAVE TO REMEMBER IS IT'S NOT SPEED THAT KILLS IT'S BAD DRIVING <?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O /> Yours or other peoples? If you met yourself coming the other way , would you survive? The fact is the average speed on the journey did not exceed the national speed limit. You probably would struggle to do the national speed limit as an average speed arround KH. Whats the average speed at crail ? Average speed on my journey to work is 45mph, I travell 60 miles, I often get up to 100mph (on motorway and early in morning). Im not a hypocrite just advocateing a little restraint thats all.
