STi_Bandit Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Has anyone out there installed DIY brake ducts running from the front fog lamp covers (would remove the covers) and have a duct running to the front brakes either side. Was thinking of trying this to try and keep the brakes nice and cool. Is it worthwhile trying this ?? Martin
fai17 Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Yes cooling you brakes with ducting will be great but i doubt you'll drive that hard that your brakes will need to be cooled unless you are on track.
st3ph3n Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 How about these Martin - http://www.srbpower.com/chargespeed/subaru...brake-ducts.php
st3ph3n Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 They'd look better than your tumble drier hose Peter! Which is still some damn nice ghetto engineering.

ozzy Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Yes cooling you brakes with ducting will be great but i doubt you'll drive that hard that your brakes will need to be cooled unless you are on track. I can get my brakes smoking after just 5-10mins on my local B-roads/singletrack. I was contemplating going up to AP's or re-fitting my Godspeeds just so they can cope with the heat, but it may be worthwhile trying some cooling if that could help them last longer before they fade. May try to find a cheap thermometer to see the before/after effects.
STi_Bandit Posted June 2, 2006 Author Posted June 2, 2006 Now they look nice, can you paint Carbon Fibre to match the WR Blue... Martin
st3ph3n Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 You can paint CF. I think they'd look good left in CF though.
STi_Bandit Posted June 2, 2006 Author Posted June 2, 2006 Suppose you could buy the CF fit them and see what you thought, would look fantastic on a black car. They actully give the front a real aggressive look, might have to enguire how much they are.
