shaun_odonnell Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 One of my favorite roads, especially @ 6.00am. [] Enjoy.
shaun_odonnell Posted May 25, 2006 Author Posted May 25, 2006 It's not the widest of roads I must admit. Better at night when you can see headlights of on-coming cars.
sharon_mccall Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 I know that road well. It's not that wide, and as you say much better at night. Good fun all the same.[]
shaun_odonnell Posted May 26, 2006 Author Posted May 26, 2006 It's a good wee run on one tank of Optimax. Into Fintry, turn right out to Kippen, turn left onto the Gargunnock road, turn right at Arnprior and down past Lake of Menteith, at Port of Menteith turn left and into Aberfoyle. Straight through and up and over the Dukes pass toward Loch Katrine, right at the junction, along the road towards Callander. From Callander on towards Stirling and let the car cool down from Prudential until McDonalds where breakfast awaits. Then back home to wash all the dead bugs off the front of the car.
sharon_mccall Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Good run that one. Gimme a shout the next time your going and i'll play wi ya! []
weeb Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 magic road buddy i was in glasgow the other day, came back over the crow road and rite into fankerton! awsome, done some nice overtakes on crow road, went down inside of a chav saxo on a corner (clear view of the oncoming road of course) god i need to remember am not doing a rally stage of GT4.
shaun_odonnell Posted May 26, 2006 Author Posted May 26, 2006 It was on that very same road, going in the opposite direction though heading towards Lennoxtown, when I realised I needed new brakes. Sh8t myself at the bend at the car-park, had nothing under the middle pedal. [] There's one or two cars lying down in the valley, wasn't wanting to make mine the third.
shaun_odonnell Posted May 26, 2006 Author Posted May 26, 2006 Good run that one. Gimme a shout the next time your going and i'll play wi ya! [] I touch goats

shaun_odonnell Posted May 26, 2006 Author Posted May 26, 2006 Glad there's other that appreciate these roads. I'll certainly be in touch about a wee run. Perhaps get a few numbers and locals interested. But have to be early hours to be safe. Although that doesn't stop the cattle being on the roads. Was faced one morning with some Impreza loving highland cows. Think I woke them up. http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i203/Sha...ll/STA60001.jpg Moooooooo
weeb Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 big cooooooooooooos!! i cycle along that road too, got chased by a wolf once!! shat me pants! is that the corner where there is a few hooses and a phone box??? just before the damn? we could meet at the carron bridge inn and do the tak me doon road, along to lennoxtown, up crow road and back to fankerton??

shaun_odonnell Posted May 27, 2006 Author Posted May 27, 2006 big cooooooooooooos!! i cycle along that road too, got chased by a wolf once!! shat me pants! is that the corner where there is a few hooses and a phone box??? just before the damn? we could meet at the carron bridge inn and do the tak me doon road, along to lennoxtown, up crow road and back to fankerton?? Yeah, thats the very bit of road. See they've put up 30 signs along there now. Bit disapointing, but safer for those that live there. That sounds like a good wee run, but I wouldn't get my brakes warmed up on such a small jaunt. Fancy the run that I've described earlier in this thread sometime?
weeb Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 just back from glasgow!! ripped this road on way there, OMG a was taken over by GT4, i keep having to remind myself am no playing a game!!! wow, wot a road, gearbox aint gonna last long driving like that tho!!! yeah, a run incorporating these roads will be magic! anytime buddy!
shaun_odonnell Posted May 27, 2006 Author Posted May 27, 2006 I'll try and arrange something really soon. Posted a convoy thread for Falkirk members on the central meet thread. I'll see what response that gets and make arrangements based on that.
