oz *sti* Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 hi all, Looking for a bit of advice having a bit of bother getting the downpipe pipe off - now I know it can be done as my new headers were fitted about 2 months ago and Greer's undone the downpipe at that point - any tricks that I could be missing? Cheers Oz.
drb5 Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Whats the problem exactly? Getting the nuts loosened off? Just because they've been slackened before, doesn't mean they will come easily. Give it time, a large breaker bar and constantly work it back and forward, untill it's right off. Most likely, the thread will be guffed though.
oz *sti* Posted May 13, 2006 Author Posted May 13, 2006 yeh it's getting the nuts loosened off - I will try what you said tomorrow.
drb5 Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 If it's the ones on the underside of the neck, get a correct length of extension bar and get underneath the car. Your arms will be falling off by the end of it, but at least you'll have them off. [] Hope to get the nut off with the stud still fixed to it though, as you can reuse this....it simply works as a bolt. []
fai17 Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Colin uses plenty of his loosening spray before tackling the job[]
