RS Grant Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Well, here it is... brought to you by DIY Motorsport @ The Driveway, Fife. [H] Couple of pics to remind you what car was being worked on, I'll do a full feature sometime in the future... Haha!! [] Thats right, its the 'Bailey Bus' AKA 'The Viking...' and now for the main event.. I know you're all dying to see how I've transformed it, so wait no longer.... Here it is, I'm confident that its a World First in the modifying scene. LOL!! Thats right, its a sponge mounted Air/Fuel Gauge.... Oh yea!!! [H] Found the gauge lying around doing nothing and since I was a bit bored, I decided to fit it to the car I use to transport my dog to and from the beach/vet/hills.. only problem was, I didnt like how it was sitting without a proper mount, so I butchered an old sponge and now it fits like a glove. Haha, it works surprisingly well, the car runs slightly rich all the way through the rev range. Just like a proper sports car should!! [][] Whats your thoughts?? Cheers, Grant
wrxmania Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 That is really slick - I am away to get rid of my gauge pod and mount them in between the handbrake and the gearstick with an old shoe Brian []
st3ph3n Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Polyfilla is where it's at Grant. But the sponge look is nice too.
RS Grant Posted May 13, 2006 Author Posted May 13, 2006 Thanks for the comments guys.. makes all the hard work worthwhile. [] I'm thinking about taking it to shows this summer, what you guys reckon... it'd surely sail into the Fast and Modified Top 100?? LOL!! [] Cheers, Grant
RS Grant Posted May 13, 2006 Author Posted May 13, 2006 No bother Gordy, will let you know once I'm bored of it serving no purpose at all in the Rover... [] Cheers, Grant
