uk_Mo Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Hi I have just come back from a wee run oot in the scooby and I have an unusual problem that has just started happening. When I'm driving at various speeds between 40 + 80mph I'm getting a shudder through the steering like the wheel balancing is out but then it goes away for a while and sometimes when its doing it if I turn the steering wheel to turn a corner it gets worse. any ideas? Thanks Mo
gus the bus Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Mo, what tyres are you using? I had a similar problem recently before I changed my tyres from the Bridgestones (RE040's) and it so happened that the tyre was running flat but due to the extra strong reinforced sidewalls the tyre remained straight. Might be worth checking your tyre pressures just incase. Gus
Guest Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Also check all your wheel nuts if you haven't done so for a while(you never know)
Digital Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Had this on my old car and was a damaged (dented alloy) causing the balance of it to be out at certain speeds (60+). If you havent knocked the alloy recently, then as said check the tightness of the wheel nuts & tyre pressures.
