engine dipping when idling

does anyone know what would cause the engine to dip when it is idling.  Was sitting letting the car cool down when i noticed that the engine power dipped every now and again.

is this normal?

does your car have aircon, and was it on?

yeah it has aircon but wasn't on

take idle stabilising valve off......clean out with a can of carb cleaner!!!!!.....it will remove any residue that will be causing the valve to stick and not operate correctly!!

stick it back on and it will be like new!!!

iac is located centrally on the very top of the engine between the cylinders ! it has a black plug going into it from the right side hth matey !!!
