Torque and 3" exhaust, remap?

Thanks for the advice about my exhaust.  Went to Turriff Tyres and a centre box was fitted. Nice size about 4” diameter and looks great in the 3” diameter exhaust.  What a lovely sound I now have from the car, deep rumble at low revs then changes to a loud growl over 4k building to a wail towards the limiter, just what I wanted.  Cruising at motorway speeds the noise is easily tolerable. 

Only thing is I seem to have more power at the top end and it appears to less restriction up the rev range.  The only down side is the increase in lag, 2^nd gear acceleration from 20mph is sluggish now.  I did read about the larger bore exhausts causing more lag but since I got the 3” for a good price I thought I’d take the chance.

Would a custom remap bring the torque back at the lower revs?  I’m thinking seeing Andy F in the summer.

A custom remap and a safe increase in boost would increase your torque conciderably along with your hp, and give you peace of mind. Andy F is your man. Give him a call or drop him an email, tell him what your car has and what you are looking for and he will advise you accordingly.
