bigdavie Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 makes so much diference especially on the twisties !! cheers boys !! you know who you are !!
iain_ogston Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Did you get lower braces fitted or only top mounted ones. I have top mounted (Sti carbon fibre front, alloy rear) strut braces but am wondering if it's worth fitting lower braces too?
bigdavie Posted April 5, 2006 Author Posted April 5, 2006 lol thats what i got today the sti carbon front one what a difference been on ebay there they have a lower front brace cheap mate if your interested ?? been looking for a rear brace since i got the front done cant believe the difference !
STi_Bandit Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Iam looking at getting this package from flat 4 online [] http://www.flat4online.co.uk/catalog/produ...05-strut-braces think they also do one for the classics Martin
iain_ogston Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 cool. I got my Sti carbon fibre brace from a breakers in England el cheapo. The flat4online site doesn't say what the lower brace is made of. I was looking at the MRT one on jap-innovations.co.uk website - seems to be a very lightweight model.
STi_Bandit Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 I was looking at the scoobyworld carbon one really fanced it, that mrt looks alot better than the megan one Martin
st3ph3n Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 http://www.cuscoshop.co.uk/acatalog/gd8.html - I bought my rear brace off that guy, via ebay. Top stuff. I've got a Cusco one on the front that hypertech got me.
iain_ogston Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 MRT stuff looks very good. Their australian website is quite detailed and offers loads of parts. For 140 quid I think you could get an original STi strut brace. Try a few speacialist breakers they go for anything up to 120 quid from memory. http://www.japperformanceparts.co.uk/Subaru%20tuning.htm has some listed but for classics so won't suit your car. Keep an eye out.
STi_Bandit Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 My personal prefrance is to get good stut braces as i agree that the cheaper ones will potential be heavier and have a negative effect on the handling and i certainly dont want that. Will now look at the Cusco stuff and mrt Martin
