corsa Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Have a look at this amazing site, with some real intense images of the gost town. Its a story of a female biker on a trip through the once bustling town of Chernobyl after that dreadfull day. The last few images are so sad.( although nothing graphic) It really does make you think twice about our own lives!!!! http://www.kiddofspeed.com/chapter1.htmlhttp://www.kiddofspeed.com/chapter1.htmlhttp://'>

gus the bus Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 very moving images[] I was fortunate enough to attend a world Forestry conference in Toronto last year (representing Scotland[]) and one of the guys Denis Goyshak lived in that area and did a presentation on the effects of the Chernobyl disaster on the climate, population (or lack of it!) wildlife and forestry. He made frequent visits into the so called excluded zone to do surveys and assessments. Rather him than me!!!! He now lives in Chicago but still makes annual visits to the area to see if there are changes! in the last ten years the pollution levels have not changed[][] He later sent me a copy of his presentation as it was probably one of the most interesting, moving and worrying presentations I have ever listened to!
