chris_c201 Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Finally got my act together and removed the intake resonator in the wing.... Left the ram air scoop pointing towards the whole in the wing for now although i may just block this off and remove the scoop, also took a 100mm tumble dryer hose and fed it into the airbox (was a v v v tight squeeze) and left the other end just at the back of the fog lights next to the vents.... Wasn't expecting any diff to performance but there is some defo noise difference, bit of a roar on acceleration, more turbo noise and then you can hear the OE Re-Circ valve pretty clear too.... much better.... Have noticed the temp guage on the dash seems to be sitting closer to the 1/3 mark where as it used to sit at the middle, may be my imagination though....
dan_jess Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Always a good idea to remove the snorkle! I noticed a noise difference aswell, more sucking and fluttering!
SEEVERS Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Chris, are you about tonight as i'd like to take at look at that if you don't mind bud..? Del.[^o)]

frank c Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 How easy is it to do though Dougster.....and do you need to remove the screw (at 12 o'clock on liner) to do the job. As it tried to remove this screw before but it wouldn't come out so just put the wheel back on..[:$] Frank.
dougster Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Take the arch liner off as resonator is bigger than you will expect!!!!!!!!!
chris_c201 Posted March 25, 2006 Author Posted March 25, 2006 If its anything like the newage one you will defo be surprised by the size of it.... It might be Sunday before i get any pics up....
RaymondH Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 After I removed mine I took a hacksaw to it and removed everything a couple of inches from the inner wing mounting flange. When refitted it meant that the air intake on the radiator panel could be replaced channelling cool air into the inner wing where it was picked up by the (very much shortened) air box inlet, if you see what I mean...[] With the bonnet open it looked untouched.
