B3AR Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 You did it wrong then, it's always right. Basically any number you chose will always go back to the same number ie, 99 = 81, 95 = 81, 90 = 81 so it can't be wrong.
darryl_martin Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Answer always divisible by 9. All multiples of 9 have the same symbol. Multiples of 9 pop up everywhere. If you put miss a 0 off a number, the difference will be divisible by 9 (40 instead of 400, difference 360), and if you swap some figures round the same applies, 37 instead of 73 gives a difference of 36. Sure theres a rational explanation for it somewhere.
