st3ph3n Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Could one of the more technically minded people spare me a moment or two at hillington or at Peter's place tomorrow night to have a wee look at my brakes. I'm certain I'm needing new pads at the front, but I'd also like a keen eye cast over the discs to see if they're still in shape or not.
ANDYJDMSTI Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 You will be able to see your pads and tell how much wear is left in them. as for discs, if they are heavily scored and grooved then i would change them
st3ph3n Posted March 21, 2006 Author Posted March 21, 2006 If the discs need done I'll go down the godspeed big brake conversion route I think.
Gumball Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 as andy said, if theres a lip on the edge or grey burnt looking marks or the steering wheel shakes then its time to change the discs. if the pads are gone it just takes ages to stop. i always think that burning out standard discs with good pads is cheaper than taking slightly lower to burn out expensive kit and change it anyway. just imho
