clutdav Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Looking good mate. You'll have great fun with your STi 9 - I know I have! Where are you based as it almost looks like a Stewart Milne house in Blackburn in your picture? Dave
RS Grant Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Ah, I see you got one of the rare Blue/Gold colour combinations... [] Enjoy the new car mate, its perfect weather to 'test' it properly just now. [] Cheers, Grant
fai17 Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Nice car..try resizing your pic before you post it on SIDC
lock stock Posted March 6, 2006 Author Posted March 6, 2006 Belive it or not I did consider the crystal grey colour, but it was on a 6 week wait and now that I have it I am really pleased with the colour, a bit common but still the best in my opinion. P.S funny one, one of my sons mates said to me today "there is something diferent about your car have you fitted a new spoiler or something "!!!!!!!!!!!!! he is only 9 I suppose.
lock stock Posted March 6, 2006 Author Posted March 6, 2006 Dave, Close,Stewart Milnes at Elrick, not too far away from you.
dave_morgan Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Very nice. These Subaru things really hook you in don't they !! []
lock stock Posted March 7, 2006 Author Posted March 7, 2006 One more picture, resized too. I'm starting to get to grips with this uploading now.
RS Grant Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Wasnt having a dig mate... I agree, the WR Blue Imprezas look good, after all, if they didnt then they wouldnt be so popular. [] You got the modding bug yet?? Cheers, Grant
lock stock Posted March 7, 2006 Author Posted March 7, 2006 Hey Grant, Should have mentioned that the mods are already on, I had a not long bought a Ninja rear box & a baily dump valve for my wagon, luckily they fitted the new STi with and sound even better than the previous model they were fitted to. cheers Rob.
RS Grant Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Good good... Got to release the Flat-4 rumble, Ninja is a really nice B/box too... Suitably large, but still more subtle than a Blitz or Afterburner. [H] Cheers, Grant

Vey tasty indeed.[]
WUZ Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Baileys Dump valve..............................BAD IDEA[:$] change that out ASAP M8, it is in your best interests. Russell BHP Developments
fai17 Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Get the baileys off m8....it's not good for your car..
lock stock Posted March 7, 2006 Author Posted March 7, 2006 Ok Guys , now you have got me all worried, what is the issue with the dump valve? I will take your advice and get it changed back. cheers Rob.
fai17 Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 They leak and make you car run rich/lean which is not good for your car esp if it's a VTA. Better stick to the standard one or something like a Forge recirct dump valve. Turbosmart or APS are good also.
WUZ Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Exactly - seen too many cars F***ED up because of these. Every customer I have that had one NO LONGER HAS ONE! (apart from 1 who hasn't changed his yet.........YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE![]) Russell
lock stock Posted March 7, 2006 Author Posted March 7, 2006 Thank's for the good advice guys,I did'nt realise there was a problem with them. Will be on E-Bay soon. cheers Rob.
stephen_cheyne Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Yeah, thanks for that good advice too as I would probably have been going for a Bailey's VTA in the future once my warranty runs out. Are there any recommended VTA dump valves or is it as you say just as well staying with the original. I would only have been buying one for the noise. What about the likes of the Forge, Blitz Supersound and HKS SSQV. Are they worth the money or again are you just leaving yourself open to problems. Sorry, this has probably been explained a million times before. Stephen.
ANDYJDMSTI Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Pete, What DV does your mate have on his STI in Greers?? I may be wrong but it looked like a polished Bailey, only noticed it as i had the blue one on my uk300 when i had it. May want to give him some advice too [] IMHO.........stick with the original DV's, they are on the car for a reason. Yes i used to have a VTA Turbosmart but swapped it back as it was pump and noticed my oil started to stink of petrol.........may or may not have been due to the DV but it was the only explanation. []
