Fitting of panel filter

I always thought you remove the top of the airbox.. take out the old element, replace with Green element, re-attach top of airbox and bingo bango. Jobs a good'un!!

You need to undo the two steel clips on the left hand side of the engine bay where the air box is situated (sti)

The green filter on mine needed the lugs removed on the length sides,

Did this with a trimming knife. It would not let the lid shut

otherwise, the instructions were in my box about maybe needing remove

the lugs to make it fit. You must remove both sides for it to

centralise itself. Then reclip the steel clips and bobs yer uncle a wee

rasper of a conversion and sometimes gives more sook and sound.[;)]

I did that but can't get the lid shut there is rubber bits under the rubber lip so it thicker than the origanal filter .I did a panel filter on the classic i had and that was easy

Fitted the filter yesterday afernoon after cutting lugs of the underside of  filter get a slit impovment on fuel econemy and bit more noise from the dumpvalve when changing gear.
