lescazscoob Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 anyone else had an idea about the richard burns fundraiser??? after ian talking about the forth road bridge (how many scoobies can we get on the bridge at one time!) idea i have been in touch with the fife police liason officer and he has said if we get numbers dates etc etc then we can try to arrange something any ideas???? we can discuss this further at the meeting if you want?
sharon_mccall Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 do u mean driving over it in a slow convoy? i'd do that.[] wouldn't walk as i am terrified of heights. Jeez gives me the willies just thinking bout it. EEK![]
4Hero Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Do you hav tae come fae Fife []? I did live there most of my life in Buckhaven, but Buckhind no more [] I'm up for it if non-fifers are allowed!
zeolite Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 The idea was actually Yvonne's and the vision was a photo of the Forth Road Bridge with a line of scoobs as far as you could see. I had a vague plan of assembling at Duloch park and heading out in a convoy along the motorway to the bridge. It would take some organising and more than just the Fife scoobs as the plan was to sponsor for the number of cars that we could muster. I would hope for 50 cars and that would take all of Scottishscoobies. this was thought of before the RB run and I don't want to take anything away from the RB run. It was envisaged to be run very early in the summer when the roads were quiet and there was daylight. Good to see some enthusiasm and if there is enough interest then we should do it. I struggle to get any kind of regular time at home as many know so if others are willing to help then lets see if it runs.
scoobyfuzzy Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 yeah, id be up for that, great idea fuzzy
lescazscoob Posted February 18, 2006 Author Posted February 18, 2006 sorry yvonne!! i didnt mention you it was your idea it was just that ian had mentioned it ill get u drink at next meet lol! i just thought that this was a great idea and would be a shame to waste. i just had been in contact with the liason officer for fife and thought it was a great idea to discuss this? they seem to think this would be a good idea and easily enough done if they could maybe meet up with a few of us and discuss it. get dates together and some numbers plans etc etc. i have also thought that papers, tv would be interested and then SIDC could get some publicity. carolann
NightOwl Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Brilliant idea. Reckon we shouldn't have difficulty in getting numbers for this.
lazscooby Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 count me in! just pm me details and ill try get a few more interested.
zeolite Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 count me in! just pm me details and ill try get a few more interested. This is not how it is going to work. We need input to organise this so why don't you go along to the Fife meet and discuss a few details. At the moment there is nothing decided and volunteers are needed. this is what is needed to get this to run.
lazscooby Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 when and where is the next fife meet?? checked the thread but its unclear
lescazscoob Posted February 19, 2006 Author Posted February 19, 2006 the next fife meet is 7.30 at the bankhead gate or brewers fayre whichever you know it by? ian we are more than happy to volunteer and do anything we can to get this thing organised, if you let us know what is needing done etc.
zeolite Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 At the moment all I have is a vague plan. So everything needs done. If anyone has any ideas bring them along to the meet which I have stuck details for in the events section.
dieselpower Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Sounds like an excellent idea, I'll be up for that. Cheers Andrew
