spluff Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 I have a MY00 uk turbo and after boostin up the bypass, if i approach a roundabout in a lower gear and go to throttle, it splutters like hell. Though it clears when i put ma foot to the floor! Anyone got any ideas?
ANDYJDMSTI Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 If you have a low tank of fuel and you cane it round a roundabout then i would say fuel starvation like you get at the hairpin at KH. Does it happen often and how much fuel did you have in the tank???
wrxmania Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 And the fuel you are using? Try sticking some octane booster in it for a while (with Shell Optimax or BP Ultimate) and see if that helps. Brian []
Baz81 Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 I was reading on site that there's a sensor that gets sh*tted up with oil which is used by the waste gate and controls boost levels which means theres a bad reading going my??

Try giving it a clean if you can. Its located on the o/s inner wing. It has a pipe going in the bottom and another in the side. Take the electrical connector and split it before removing the two pipes. Use a 10mm spanner to remove the solenoid from its rubber mounts and then spray in some solvent type de greaser before blowing it through with an airline. Re fit and try it out[]

Does it happen often and how much fuel did you have in the tank??? It happens whenever the car has warmed up, just about everytime. It's not fuel starvation, never run it low on fuel. Cheers for your help

It's almost like a misfire but it's got new leads and plugs [*-)]

jamie_wood Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 The AMAL valve is kind of the same idea but the one on your car just now isn't as clever you could say. Im sure that an AMAL valve can control the waste gate. I might be wrong, I would need to look into it. The valve on the scooby just reads pressure and send the info back to the ECU.

But if this valve is oiled up could it be the cause of the spluttering? Cheers mate

But if your keeping your foot down when this happens then that might show the same effects. Well worth a try i would say anyway
