welcome aboard, some of us test drove the STI (non spec D) and had mixed responses. View the thread thankin Jeff & Co for Saturday. Personally not overly impressed and the Spec D isnt much different in power or handling terms.

Thanks little H!

The press said it was smoother and smaller gearstick with smoother gearchanges...and 6 gears...does that include reverse...(soory not very techy!)...shape looks nice though...

The one thing that i do really like is the new shape and face lift, but in my opinion its a crime to not look like an STI. 6 gears is 6 forward gears which the STI has but the spec D has a slightly lower ratio box and a little more power to compensate it so it feels smoother.

The suspension has also been eased so giving a smother ride, but to be fair the STI ride was quite smooth as standard. All in at the moment till the mods start coming on the scene i would recomend an 05/55 STI and do some mods. Its all down to what kind of car your after.

Give Jeff Borg a call (hes the subaru dealer on the other thread) or PM him and line up a test drive and see what you think.

Thanks Little H!!!!

The WRX I have is only 5 gear...(not an sti)...so 6 gear sounds better. I'll see what Jeff Borg thinks...see whan i can drive a spec D...

The spec D is a difficult one to answer really its only being made in limited numbers to test the water, giving STi performance with WRX looks (WRX with prodrive?????) it has silver wheels full leather black carpets sat nav and an upgraded stereo. Its only available in Crystal Grey metallic, I have ordered one as a Showroom car and will be here fingers crossed within a couple of weeks.

The Extra spec sounds nice and I am sure will drive superbly (Unfortunatly a tad quiet) I think its Subaru UK seeing how it sells then possibly make the STi more RAW and fun and have the SPEC D for people who want something more low key but still have the performance.

I will keep everyone informed when it comes in.
