irish al Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Got this fault code last Friday, had the ECU reset to see if it would come on again and it has. Can anyone tell me if this is happening because there is no cats or is it more likely to be a fault with the sensor rather than what the sensor is reading ? P0546 Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor Circut Malfunction (High Input) Any help much appreciated before getting it off to a garage. Al
spooks Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 I burnt out the sensor in my up pipe, not too sure if this is the same fault as you have now matey. Spooks
irish al Posted January 17, 2006 Author Posted January 17, 2006 Not sure Spooks. Found these while searching for a reason/solution if anyone is interested: Ecutek Text Anyone else got any advice what to do ?? Can i just get it removed, fit the resistor, and forget about the EGT Sensor, or should I fit a gauge to monitor it ??
Bing Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Im posting without knowing for sure if it will work but I got a 2200ohm resistor from Maplin to cross the terminals as my engine management light is on too, BUT mine is on because my sensor has been removed as my up pipe does not accommodate! Will let you know if it works S
