2559B Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Was this cancelled or not ??? I was going to take a wee run up & spectate , but I read this morning that it was cancelled due to bad weather ?
FastScooby Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 went up there this morning about 11:30am.. it had been snowing the ground had a very light scattering of snow.. nothing to write home about.. as for the track for what is seen of it from the road.. it had 1 or 2 bits of snow.. im sure they could of swept the track to get rid of the one or two pacthes
dougie549 Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Hi All I wish some would inform members of the situation with this. I went up with my wife today to this and when i got there not even a car in the parking area let alone on the paddock. Its alright if you live close enought but when you have a 1.5 hour drive to knockhill and then the same home FOR NOTHING it really stinks. Got there and there was sun in the sky but nippy outside ,no SNOW at all. An explanation would be good, but a veery unhappy member here. Dougie
IanJ Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Typical Knockhill weather system [] Dougie, This was organised outwith the club.So SIDC can't be held responsible for the call-off. Ian
dougie549 Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 HI Ian No M8 i never did blame SIDC for this M8. It would have been good to have another thread put at with the title TRACK DAY CANCELLED or trawling links to find out the obvious when we got home. Cheers Dougie
Russs Posted February 13, 2006 Author Posted February 13, 2006 So much for the forecast!Track day cancelled - snow I'm sorry if you feel you weren't informed, but I thought this was pretty clear. Knockhill called us at around 9am to tell us that the track was snowbound. I was more than a little disappointed myself, plus I had to spend a couple of hours phoning round everyone who had booked. If you hadn't booked then there was no way of me knowing you were coming. Was also quite galling when I went up for a look at 2.30ish to find it was totally clear []
dougie549 Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 HI Russ No i never booked to go on as i usually spectate, my point was that it was highly promted on the couple of site's that i watch, we were out for about 9 -9.20am as we had things to do so it wasnt as if we could keep checking the bullitin board. If there had been a thread with the heading Knockhill cancelled it might have caught more peoples attention rather than it being in one of the threads and then haveing to trawl throught them. You now know how i felt when we turned uo then ;o). Water under the brigde now and calmed down, these things happen and we have to deal with it Cheers Dougie
