Guest Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 used the dastek rr'd on fri past and was dissapointed my VR only made 193.5bhp with 183.1 ld/ft torque. i am wondering if this particular rr'd has always produced low figures or is it just my car?? i have heard before about star performance giving rather optimistic figure is this true??? it's just out of interest cos if it's right my car aint!!!
RS Grant Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Dastek has, IMO, always been the one to give a slightly more accurate reading... Star is good if you fancy some pub-talk BHP. Cheers, Grant
fai17 Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Have you mod your car?? If not ,that is a very good figure for your VR6
col666 Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 I agree, I think stars RR is a bit optimistic. I made 286BHP at Dastek then about 6 months later after fitting a Walbro Fuel Pump and Regulator I took it to Star and got 315 Bhp which i thought was a bit much for mods done? not complaining though Col.
Gumball Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 most people use dastek in scottish scoobie and i think they are about right. They recently had dramas with their rollers from what i can remember. but that must have been sorted now? Spooks....are we on again???
RS Grant Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 IIRC the Scottish Scoobies Event is meant to be sometime in March '06?? Cheers, Grant
Guest Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 well just found the graphs again were at the girlfriends so correct figures are 193.5bhp which is 19.5 up on standard 183.1 lb/ft torque which is 13.1 up on standard so not to bad at all in my eyes wee bit off my target of 210bhp and 200 lb/ft torque maybe i better go visit Star performance
colinj Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Dastek was pretty much bang on with what my car should have been running!!
colinj Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 << well just found the graphs again were at the girlfriends so correct figures are 193.5bhp which is 19.5 up on standard 183.1 lb/ft torque which is 13.1 up on standard so not to bad at all in my eyes wee bit off my target of 210bhp and 200 lb/ft torque maybe i better go visit Star performance >> What engine mods have you done for an expected 25% bhp gain???
Guest Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 well 6-2-1 manifold to fit heat wrapped. fit the BMC with cold air feed going to report the inlet and get the throttle body rebored aswell.
