fifth gear report on optimax petrol using a new sti produces 249bhp (Subaru claim 280bhp) is this because the reading has been taken at the wheel and not flywheel.

subaru claim its X ps rather than X bhp

so if its 315ps PPP in the subaru brochure then its about 299bhp or whatever

talking about the flywheel is a point but for another example

if for instance a car had 300bhp on the rolling road.......Dastek for instance would say your cars 300bhp as they have done with all of ours.

thats 300bhp at the flywheel, so then you take the drag which is the time it takes to slow down on the rollers x whatever gives you your at the wheels figure of maybe 270bhp.

does that make sense?
