Jazmac Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 I have fitted a new Walbro fuel pump into my classic, do i need to get the ECU remapped to recognise it or will it work to optimum performance as soon as its plugged in??
Gumball Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 you dont need to get it remapped after the fuel pump as it will pick it up straight away. once you start changing the injectors and stuff like that then you will.
colin_ross Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 Have you changed or adjusted your fuel pressure regulator?
Jazmac Posted December 3, 2005 Author Posted December 3, 2005 no i have not touched the regulator, just took out the old intank pump and replaced it with the new one.
andrew_forrest Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 The ECU will adjust to the idle and cruise conditions but run a bit richer on boost due to the pressure not dropping off on the uprated pump. Thats good for safety though. Andy
frank c Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 Only 3 more posts till your a regular Andy........
scoobymadburd Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 When we upgraded we had to upgrade the regulator dont know if it is the same for your classic. We have a my97 Claire
