wedmonds Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Hello, Who can tell me about the Immobilizer on a 2003 WRX STI. Its in the manual but have not had a moment to read yet so thought i would ask you chaps. Basically, once you turn of the engine and return the key. The engine does not start. Is there a wait period or a procedure you have to follow. I found that my turning alarm on and off it works.
SCOOBYTOO Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 it's thatch 1 approved so it will self immobilise. you will need to lock/unlock car i think after 30 secs from removing ignition key, or when the red alarm light is on continuously
darryl_martin Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Yep immobiliser cuts in automatically after about 30 secs if car not started. Doors may lock too if you unlock it but then don't touch the car for a bit (does with mine anyway) so careful where you leave the keys!!! With mine when the immobiliser has set itself, if you put the key in ignition and turn key so dash lights up, then press the button the red light flashes once and you can then start the car. Saves locking and unlocking each time. Hope you enjoy the car
