des_curran Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I'm needing 4 new tyres any recomendations on what make and where to buy, i was think Toyo T1-R's ? Also the tyres at the moment are 215/45/17 and i get no rubbing of the arches ect even when 4 up, but would 215/40's be better on a classic ? Cheers
Gumball Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 toyo t1r's without a doubt. wouldnt trust anything else
vicki Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Hi Des If you want my advice about tyres please go to the general discussion area and look at the thread called "new tyres". Its about 2nd last on the first page. (If you can be bothered) Don't know where everyone gets their tyres on here but Costco is cheap for Michelins. Vic
fai17 Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Toyo T1R in 215/40/17 m8 or try Goodyear F1 GSD3 are very good too
willie Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I am a goodyear fan now but used to swear by the toyos. In edinburgh you will find Damien at HiQ in Bankhead Avenue the man with the best prices.
des_curran Posted November 24, 2005 Author Posted November 24, 2005 Cheers peeps I think i will go for the toyos in 215/40 (Vicki) Ye costco do have some great prices on michelin pilot sports, i was in there last week as my m8 works in there tyre bay but they dont stock 215/40/17 only 205/40 or 215/45/17
frank c Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Can't decide either F1's or Toyo T1r's..... ( 215/40/17 ) Takes long enough to choose the right tyres , can't wait to try and choose front discs and pads....... Frank.
RS Grant Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Eagle F1's for me.... T1-S Toyos were alright, but heard a few bad stories about the T1-R Toyos, dont seem to have a high level of grip in damp/wet conditions. Cheers, Grant
chris_c201 Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 << Cheers peeps I think i will go for the toyos in 215/40 (Vicki) Ye costco do have some great prices on michelin pilot sports, i was in there last week as my m8 works in there tyre bay but they dont stock 215/40/17 only 205/40 or 215/45/17 >> Don't suppose you noticed how much the 215/45/17 were Des?? (in costco for the michelins)
des_curran Posted November 24, 2005 Author Posted November 24, 2005 Don't suppose you noticed how much the 215/45/17 were Des?? (in costco for the michelins) >> I'm pretty sure they were £115 fitted, 225/45/17 were only £105 you would think more rubber = more cost
RS Grant Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Dont have a link to a website for prices or anything do you?? I'm interested in seeing what 235/40/18's would cost from them.. Cheers, Grant
des_curran Posted November 24, 2005 Author Posted November 24, 2005 No sorry Grant i dont, although i am going to be passing there in about 30mins so i will look in and check
