fai17 Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 << << I am not so sure now. I think my car handles great as it is. Do i really need to uprate the certain parts??? Do i need it to handle better???? I goes quick, handles great and stops brill so do i relly anymore. Think i'll get a turbo timer instead unless someone can prove me wrong.. >> Hi Peter, Have spoken to several people on this and on the new age cars generally they recommend rear anti roll bar and drop links only - no caster kit, no anti lift etc as many people don't know what the car needs so just fit the lot. On a classic they recommended lots of stuff as the shell is a bit like Jelly but the new age cars are known to have a very stiff shell/chassis anyway. Get the rear drop links done, proper geo set-up and prodrive (or other) springs if you don't have them already and you'll be handling just great. Then start fitting any other bits like strut braces, front anti-roll bar, front drop links etd after you know what the bits you already have do. An example given to me was of an Impreza with the full Whiteline kit on it - everything available (except coilovers etc). They said it was totally terrible on the Whiteline settings but great on the Prodrive ones, or the standard Subaru ones - they thought the Prodrive set-up was the best for neutral handling and all the other toe-in, toe out type combinations only if you wanted the back end to step out, massive oversteer etc or were always driving on perfect tarmac. If you like it as is, do very little to change it. Brian >> Hi Brian I have done the basic like Prodrive springs, front JDM strut brace, great Toyo T1S tyres and Greersport geo settings and i find the car can out handle me so do i really need to go any further with the chassis mods??? I know going too far can make the car more less forgiving near the limits. So do i or don't i???
2559B Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 What you have to bear in mind is that these mods will alter your car's comfort level & ride quality aswell as improve handling. If you use the car everyday & have family/kids, etc, then it probably would be a wise choice to fit an anti-lift kit & so on. The RB5 handles like a dream with all the gear fitted but the trade-off is that i've lost alot of the comfort. Since I don't use the scoob everyday .................. I don't mind !!! ALthOUgh If I HAd A lApTOp IN thE caR ANd Was TrInG tO Type .............. IT woUlD LoOk soMEThiNg LiKe ThiS !!!! lol
