I believe that the cambelt should be changed at 60,000 miles, it's not something you want to skimp on as if it goes then it's goodbye engine face-icon-small-sad.gif

hi m8,

the cam belt is the belt that you cant see it actually runs the mechanics of the engine. do you know if the cambelt has been changed in the cars lifetime? how old is your car? if you look in your service history book it will give you all the intervalls at which most components need replacing or inspecting. the belt that runs the power steering belt also probably runs your alternator too.

check this service shcedule out . it tells you whats due and when..as long as yours is a classic

Is the cambelt due at different times on a classic or newage scoob then. Its just that had one garage insistent that mine should be done at 60000, when i'm sure it had been done at 45000. Could it be they were thinking about a newage?
