SCOOBYTOO Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 hi m8, the cam belt is the belt that you cant see it actually runs the mechanics of the engine. do you know if the cambelt has been changed in the cars lifetime? how old is your car? if you look in your service history book it will give you all the intervalls at which most components need replacing or inspecting. the belt that runs the power steering belt also probably runs your alternator too. check this service shcedule out . it tells you whats due and when..as long as yours is a classic service schedule

darryl_martin Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 Is the cambelt due at different times on a classic or newage scoob then. Its just that had one garage insistent that mine should be done at 60000, when i'm sure it had been done at 45000. Could it be they were thinking about a newage?
pornodan Posted November 23, 2005 Author Posted November 23, 2005 spoke to a guy at subaru main dealership and he tells me that it should be changed every 45000 for the classic.
