j-k Posted December 1, 2005 Author Posted December 1, 2005 We now have the official seeded entry list and we are going to be car 61 out of 101 entries... For those who know him, Ian Godney (Godspeed brakes) is 5 cars in front at number 56 in a BMW M3 just over a week to go, for those of you who are coming.... jon
Pele Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 I'll be along if I can get a babysitter for Jake Also for those that haven't been to a rally before - make sure you have plenty of warm clothing - especially socks, your feet get freezing standing around lol - and if you think you are standing far enough away from the track, take a few more steps back - I got hit by a stone and it was a very painful experience.... And.... Please take notice of what the marshals tell you, they are ony doing their job at the end of the day and that is to keep you and the drivers safe - the smoother they can keep things running and the faster they can clear any accidents that happen means everone gets to go home at a sensible time.... Now just pray it doesn't snow like it did on the Sunseeker when I went - now that WAS cold!!!!
Pele Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 Arron, do you know if Ian Godspeed is running in the event with his BMW M3 ?? ,Tony asked because he knows the car is running and really wants to see it in action. It runs more subaru parts than Bmw parts so ive been told lol

calder Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 "Please take notice of what the marshals tell you, they are ony doing their job at the end of the day and that is to keep you and the drivers safe - the smoother they can keep things running and the faster they can clear any accidents that happen means everone gets to go home at a sensible time.... " good advice indeed although for those of you that haven't been to Rockinham before its an all seater stadium inside. I think the only bit that you could stand next to is the bit thats shown going out of the paddock entrance into the outside car park on the stage map - this does seem to be quite a bit. (bottom left corner of diagram). The competitor access tunnel (the bit above) has a sign over it saying "exhaust appreciation tunnel" hope you enjoy it. This tunnel is how competitors vehicles get in and out under the sw grandstand. There's probably no camping on the site - although i wouldn't fancy camping at this time of year. I did pitch a tent in the paddock back in May but this was competitors only. There is a nice inn about 2 miles down the road, sorry can't remember the name. Rockingham has to be the most impressive stadium venue in the UK - it must be easily four times bigger than any football stadium, it's enormous. Only downside is that for such a big venue which must have cost millions the showers are sh!te! hth richard
Pele Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 I'm sorry I'm afraid I can't make this now - I've hurt my back and I can't stand or sit for any period of time, and driving is impossible. I'm a bit p'd off because I was looking forward to this - and hearing the exhaust appreciation tunnel Anyway good luck guys - I'll be there with you in spirit if nothing else Can't beleive such a simple thing as sneezing could have caused me so much flippin' pain! If anyone is going and would like to take along the KS flag, give me a ring and come and collect it from the new HQ Pele
Dalthegooner Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Sorry guys I can't make this either. Needed at work and at this time of the year I can't say no. Well gutted been looking forward to this since the first post hope you do well. Look forward to seeing you next time out.
