TypeRA28 Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 I have an HKS one. So far no problems. Am just developing ways of getting more cold air into the engine. Look at the thread that I posted a while back about removing the vent covers on the bonnet. Plenty people gave some great advice. If you want one, get one.
Ken 275 Posted October 22, 2005 Author Posted October 22, 2005 Many Thanks. Just a bit paranoid about the sensor. I'll consider, along with the second de-cat. Cheers, Ken
jcscoob Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Iv got a cold air feed (fillter in the iner wing job) and i will be fitting the third sensor tomorow morniing !!
Edinburgh-Chris Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 My car is getting a cold air feed this week by SW-Racing. I will post pictures of it once installed. A know a couple of guys including one of the main guys at sw-racing aready runing one of these and the only problem incountered so far is OVERBOOST!!! I here the MAF sensors break for fun after an induction kit is installed. currently on your third one though scares me a tad, they aint cheap i believe. Chris
dougster Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Cold air feed will certainly be a MAF buster without remap. I have a MAF for sale if anyone needs one btw!!
Edinburgh-Chris Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Dougster, Where does a REMAP fix the problem? I assumed the breaking part comes down to the increase and velocity of the air into the turbo via the MAF. With the cold feed its a case of ramming the air into the turbo and keeping it cold. Can't wait till next week to try it out though. Forgot to say mate, i got the side repeaters last week and slapped the bad boys on right away. Cheers mate, tomorrow morning see's a set of un-buyable black diamond race pads on my 4pots which i recieved on the free. They are ment to be EBC redstuff killers. Chris
ANDYJDMSTI Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 i have a new age JDMSTI and i have fitted the roger clark 80mm induction kit. the kits they sell come in either 76mm or 80mm, if i had gone for the more restrictive 76mm then it would just be a case of bolt and play but seeing as i went for the big bastid i had to get the MAF rescaled by andyf i.e a tweek of my map to make sure the MAF did not go tits. at the end of the day if you are unsure then speak to people in the know as to whether you would need a remap or at least a tweek. better safe than sorry as Maf's aint the cheapest of parts
