S Plate STI in West Lothian - know the previous owner?

Just saw an S plate STI in Black at a dealer in West Lothian - turns out the guy is selling it for his friend whose number he gave me - the dealer is Stuart Simpson in Pumpherston and is legit b4 you say it sounds dodgy! lol

The owner is a guy called Andy who has just bought an 02 UK car (he's not impressed!!). Anyone know the car or the history? Looks very good condition and is the Red Top engine (are all STis?) - not sure which STi it is tho - is 98 a IV?

98 could be a 4 or a 5. You can tell by the bumper and headlights. It should have the crystal headlights and just one slat below the front indicator. I tihnk there were a small number of 5's that didn't hae the crystal lights, but it shouldn't definitely have the new style numper.

And yes, I think all the sti's (of that vintage) have red manifolds.
