AlanG Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Yes he has had a new aluminium intake made up.
dipsy Posted September 16, 2005 Author Posted September 16, 2005 He must of made that up himself i saw a bit on sn about this .Hes got vast knowledge of tuning hes a clever person is Andy f
Edinburgh-Chris Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 The guy who made it up is based in south Edinburgh and is now offically starting his own buisness up making them for others. He has more knowledge of the Subaru that anybody else in the central blet and actually rebuilt most of Andy's engine bay. Stay tuned for SW Racing Co. Chris
dipsy Posted September 17, 2005 Author Posted September 17, 2005 Edinburgh-Chris this bloke who did the intake does the fabrication stuff for Andy.Andy must of built the engine himself i presume
Edinburgh-Chris Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Not to sure mate, the guy was rebuilding P1 engines left right and centre last time i heard. I am sure he would have had a hand with it somewhere. I am planning on getting him to rebuild my engine after Christmas to make it bullet proof. The guy was making up some engines to sell on, last i heard.
dipsy Posted September 17, 2005 Author Posted September 17, 2005 I was reading first scooby mag and there was an article about Andy f hes ex marine engineer so he must of built the engine him self. Andy if you read this can you answer i hope i am not starting any problems with this just taking an intrest about what you have achieved with the scoob
andrew_forrest Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Hi Dipsy Steve and Stuart at SW racing have indeed helped me with the car recently. Initially I pulled together the spec and built the engine myself last year. Recently when I gave the engine a spec update, Steve stripped and reassembled the bottom end whilst I rebuilt the heads with the new cams and high rpm valve gear. All 3 of us had an input to the new custom inlet manifold. Initially I designed it, Steve done most of the fabrication and Stuart done all the alloy welding. Stuart also welded up my new FMIC end tanks and connecting pipework. If anyone needs some specialist machining or fabrication work the these are the guys to speak to. These are the ONLY guys I have ever entrusted to work on my car, what more can I say ! Andy
dipsy Posted September 18, 2005 Author Posted September 18, 2005 I wonder if my boss would let me make somthing like that i work for a blacksmith i know a welder that does stick mig tig and that is me .Did it take much cleaning of the inlet bit what goes on the engine because you can see the join plus alu does not like any oily or muck for welding wise and Andy thank for your reply
Edinburgh-Chris Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Firstly, Well done Andy, thats an amazing time for the 1/4 mile that you have. I spoke with Steve and he mentioned that you could map my car when i get my Power FC. I have so so much time for Steve and Suart and only mentioned the fact that they manufactured the inlet manfold so that they can get things moving with there recently started company. All the best guys, lets keep the 1/4 mile subaru record in scotland for as long as it can, am sure everyone at SIDC in scotland is behind you! Best Regards, Chris
dipsy Posted September 18, 2005 Author Posted September 18, 2005 I bet Andy does not think hes lowering his times to keep the title in Scotland at least the scoob has come long way with the likes of Andy with the power its running and times way he going he will win ten of the best next that will show the skylines
Edinburgh-Chris Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 The Subaru of Andy will destroy all Skylines in sight, ten of the best will be his next year no problem. Al the best, Chris
