"at least"... the same rating as per manufacturer recommendations. Other insurance issues in respect of a claim (particularly if a third party is involved) is that they *could* use a clause to withhold payout if the tyres weren't the correct size recommended by the vehicle/wheel manufacturer. On brake pads, i wouldn't imagine there would be an issue, since aftermarket "standard parts" are acceptable, again, providing they comply to British standards of manufacture.
terminator Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Mods are everything that was not standard on the car. Tyres are ok and brake pads as long as they are the correct size. The brakes would be non standard if you added brembos and drilled/grooved discs,if they were not origionally on the car. The tire size has to be the same ie:215/40/17,if you put on a 215/35/17 the overall circumferance would be shorter and knock your speedo out. A coachline is classed as a mod and so is adding a gearknob,stupid i know.Most insurers like adrian flux do not apply any load if declared,they only load on big mods and unlike other insurers offer like for like on all declared mods as do direct line.
