terminator Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 On a twin headlight conversion.Would adding an led as a sidelight bulb in the headlight be legal??
jamie_wood Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Dont know for sure, but as far as I know....so long as it is ommiting (spell check that) a white light, then you will be fine. I can feel some DIY coming on here!! Man with cordless drill +10mm drill bit + one set of new headlamps = man with hole in hand and broken headlamp that lets the moisture in End result= std headlamps being fitted and broken lamps being sold on Ebay for a loss Hope you dont think Im being cheeky!! Im sure it will work fine
WRC No 1 Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 i have no prob with my white led on the front and i have had mine on for about a year now
terminator Posted August 30, 2005 Author Posted August 30, 2005 Thanks.Today i called the sva, vehicle inspectorate and the traffic police. The outcome was that as long as the light is of the same brilliance as a 15w sidelight bulb then the sva would pass it. I have decided to buy a strip of leds and add them to above the fog light as a daytime running light and they are e marked so will pass an mot. I have some more useless info: There can b indicators on a car anywhere on the front as long as 400mm from outeredge andno more than 1500mm in height.the same for sidelights but indicators have a min height.
