Wee Jock Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Anyone know a good Scooby Mechanic in the Canterbury area? Barretts seems to be closed again, they are never home! cheers
Pele Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 I think you will find most of us go to Xtreme Scoobies in Boreham, Essex - a bit of a trek but well worth it
Wee Jock Posted July 22, 2005 Author Posted July 22, 2005 Pele, I dont know if my wee car will make it that far! Surely there is someone local?
The Daddy Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 try dean (aka deano666) on 07950953824. top man, top mechanic.
Wee Jock Posted July 24, 2005 Author Posted July 24, 2005 For the chap who mentioned Barretts, it was closed on Friday, it always seems to be closed. The problem with the car is that I have an intermittent shudder coming through the steering wheel, if I press the brakes it feels like the right hand side is pulling, if I brake hard it feels like the right hand side is dissapearing under me! This only happens now and again usually after an hour of driving, when I pull over and check the car and drive off again it has dissapeared Over the weekend it has developed a squeeking noise which seems like it is coming from the front drivers side wheel, could it be a wheel bearing?
Deano 666 Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 does the squeek stop if you move the steering wheel left then right slightly when you are driving? it does sound to me that it could be that the bearing is worn, the bearing expands on long runs as it gets heat from the friction of the dryed out bearing, which is why you steering feels funny on long run, and not all the time.
