Neofox Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Anyone got any numbers for guys who can restore and paint wheels in the edinburgh area? I have a couple of numbers but need as many as possible so i can do some phoning tommorrow. Cheers Ian Another quick note: Arospeed RS GT alloys, what tyre is recommended for the 18" alloy, 215 on at the moment but they look like they are too small, will it be ok to put 225 on instead?
RS Grant Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 IIRC a Classic running 18's shouldnt go bigger than 215's to prevent scrubbing, and depending how low the car is, even 215's may still catch on the occasional bump when fully laden. Cheers, Grant
iroc-si Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 These are the folks I used : http://sandblastuk.com/ Unit 19a, Newbattle Abbey Business Park, Newbattle Road, Eskbank, Midlothian. Tel: 0131 660 4444 It was something like 155 quid for 4 16"x8" alloys including taking the tyres off, and refitting and balancing. Si. ps. Watch out for the speedbumps on the road into their place as they are vicious!
Johnny50 Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Ian..the 215 is the biggest you'll get away with mate. I beleive P1's are the only classic that will handle 225. My last wheels were taken to Newlife tyres, got them back same day. Cost me around £200 i think.
