spooks Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 OK so the event is fast approaching, so can we agree a central final meeting place where I can distribute the passes then convoy into the area as one happy (ish) group. I suggest a meeting point of McDonalds in Newbridge for everyone at 7.30/7.45 am so we can potter along to the event and get set up nice and early. Would be great to have everyone going to the event at this point and it would save me a bit hassle. I'll leave it up to you if you want to meet up in groups to get to this final meeting point, I know there are people coming from all over Scotland and trying to arrange it all is a logistical nightmare. Let me know what you think Spooks
oobster Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 See everyone @ Newbridge McDonalds (mmm...... sausage & egg mcmuffins ) at 7.45am latest then.
oobster Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Along the M8, take the junction signposted for the airport, when u join the north-bound road from the slip-road come straight back off again to your left. The McDonalds "restraunt" is on your left, take the tiny wee slip-road before the traffic lights @ Newbridge roundabout and your there
Fee Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 I'll be there as long as I get a chance to get a breakfast Ps....I apologise in avance...everytime I've cleaned my car recently..by the next morning I've had a f*ck off huge bird crap on it! I'll try my best to get rid of the f*ckers...but I cant promise anything!!! oh...and please be nice to me....I don't think I know anyone!!! ooobster....how do i get there from edinburgh???
oobster Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 What he said ^^^^ I got caught speeding on the dual carraigeway that joins up the Newbridge roundabout and the airport last year - it's a 40mph limit and there's sometimes a mobile camera van sitting in the layby about 250 yards from the roundabout - about 5 yards before the limit increases to 60mph!!! Just mentioning it as they may be on the look-out coz of the event that day
RS Grant Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 I think thats going to be a pretty busy spot on Sunday morning... as I'm pretty sure the GT4OC are meeting down there too before heading along to the Showground. Cheers, Grant
Fee Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 great...cheers..thought that was where you were meaning see you all there then...bright eyed and bushy tailed
spooks Posted July 15, 2005 Author Posted July 15, 2005 lol not too sure about the bright eyed part ........ its a bit early :s Spooks
Iaing Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 Is that McDonalds the one after the fourth road bridge (if you're heading from Aberdeen?). Im going to be a zombie on sunday as im working till 1am on Sunday morning and will need to leave at 5:00am to get to edinburgh. However I did hear that Asda do a cheap red bull Is anyone else heading down from oop North? Iain
oobster Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 No Iain, take the A8000 up towards Kirkliston, then at the roundabout go right onto the M9 south-bound. Once on the M9, take the 1st slip-road off which will bring you out @ the Newbridge roundabout - the McDonalds should be clearly visible about half a mile before getting to the Newbridge roundabout - stay in the right-hand lane as you approach.
Fee Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 just so you believe that I washed and polished my car ready for tomorrow (because I'm willing to bet any amount of money that it will look dirty again by the morning!) here's some pics of it gleaming! remind me never to buy a black car again
fraser_drinkwater Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 I know the feeling, ive just done my chariot and no doubt will get minging tomorrow in know time, but black does look good with several layers of meguiars. And also it is the fastest colour efter aw.
Johnny50 Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Fee....you`ve missed a bit ! Is anyone bringing a bucket/spnge etc... Cars are bound to get dirty en-route.
Fee Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 I'm taking a squeezy bottle and a sponge to do my wheels!!! I drove for 5 minutes and they were black again!
Fee Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 No, he's still offshore so its just me Can I maybe have someone's number incase I get lost in the morning....preferably someone who's going to McDonalds!
Johnny50 Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 You can have mine if you like.... (in a non stalker tyoe fashion... 07841 515 552 Although, i`m heading to meet Spooks at his house, then to Mcds. but can swing by and meet you if you get stuck.
andy Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Just a thought - I think it's really obvious where your pics were taken Fee and if I recognise it then there's nowt to say some thieving scumbag who happens to peruse these forums (which I'm sure they do looking for targets and personal info) won't too. It's a gorgeous motor and Id hate to see it nicked.
