billyboy Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 The closing date for the newsletter title is Friday July 29th.Judging will take place over the next week. The prize is worth getting people so lets hear it.Hopefully letter will be produced towards end of September,i need your input and assistance for this. Also lets go for a wee jaunt after the next Glasgow meet, even if its only a wee run down to Helensburgh or something similar just for a wee change.Havent had a lot of feed back from meet either.Time to move on to better things. Billyboy
Gumball Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 Billy regarding the newsletter, what if anything needs done to make sure it gets up and running? The meet was a good first meeting since you took over and sets the standard for the way forward in Glasgow hopefully. I also think that the wee run after the meets is a good idea to get everyone together whilst doing something like that, not just in the brewers fare. Hope all the meets go well and get better and better over the coming months.
McGoo Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 I agree, A wee tootle along the road to somewhere afterwards is a good idea, rather than just a meet up at a location and then go home. It doesn't have to be a total "Canonball" ( ahem sorry Chris, old Skool rules !!! ) but if only for a few miles. Or ....... what if, a meet up at a central point ( City centre, showcase cinemas, Ikea etc ), then a short scoot to a Brewers Fayre/ Pub etc in convoy then the meet proper ? So even if you set the meet for say Hillington, everyone could meet up for instance on Bothwell Street/Waterloo Street in the City centre, and then its only 5 mins to the pub but everyone gets a quick blether beforehand. Only an idea Davie
Gumball Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 McGoo I agree, theres no need to gumball/canonball/screwball everywhere. A nice convoy of scoobies would be good. i think im getting old and sensible

Guess I'll need to shelve my nun outfit too.
McGoo Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Well that'll be the Captain Chaos outfit put away for another year too !!! Just found a site www.imdb.com and it gives the credit information for the film, get this.... Jackie Chan is listed as playing himself and is described as ... Cast overview, first billed only: Burt Reynolds .... J.J. McClure Roger Moore .... Seymour Goldfarb, Jr. Farrah Fawcett .... Pamela Glover Dom DeLuise .... Victor Prinzim/Captain Chaos Dean Martin .... Jamie Blake Sammy Davis Jr. .... Morris Fenderbaum Jack Elam .... Doctor Nikolas Van Helsing Adrienne Barbeau .... Marcie Thatcher Terry Bradshaw .... Terry Jackie Chan .... Jackie Chan, Subaru Driver Bert Convy .... Bradford Compton ************************************* So, Billy, Any thoughts on a Pre or Post meet tootle - or shall we leave it to the forums to set up mini-meets and convoys before the meets ? Cheers Davie
st3ph3n Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 IMDB is mistaken. I am almost certain. I do believe it was a black Mitsubishi Starion Turbo that he and Jaws from the bond films copiloted. Jackie has also driven a number of Mitsubishis in various films, because I do believe he is sponsored by them. He even starred as a mechanic and racing driver in one called Thunderbolt where he drives an FTO in a great chase sequence at the start, and races a works 3000GT towards the end. Quality film that. Despite him being on the darkside
