fuel gauge sticking

Recommended Posts

I had a fuel pump fitted last week (uprated)

everything has been running well then today..............

i put 45 notes in the tank and drove for a while before i realised i was only showing half a tank!!!!!

confused as to whether i had imagined putting that money in a short while ago, i tried again. definately full.

is there a chance that my new s****y fuel pump has caused my guage to stop working? surely not?

whats the story morning glory???????????/

Pump will have been your problem Mateyface-icon-small-sad.gif

The sender unit is part of the pump (so to speak)

When the pump has been changed it might have been damaged when re fitting.

Its not hard to fit, just fiddly. The pump and sender unit need to go in the tank as one and can sometimes contact the opening to the tank, damaging the delicate part that it reads from.

The other thing is it might have been bent when fitting.

If so it can be fixed by simply removing the sender unit and straightening the arm.

I would need to see it to be able to correct the faultface-icon-small-wink.gif
