Gumball Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 << TextHiggy could you let me know what the exact problem is with your vehicle, as I can not see the relationship between your car sitting on the dyno with a lambda probe up it?s backbox & the failure of your EGT sensor? >> LOL PMSL LOL what a boy!!! has the lunatic from Subaru called yet Higgi regarding the ECU mystery surrounding my rocket?
jasonb Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 I must say i think the setup at dastek was very good and cant understand people putting dastek down I also thought it was very good of the dastek team keeping the price at £25 after some people pulled out and some other people just didn't turn up.Because there was only 14 cars that showed up, it should have cost us £35 each Gordon who has the R34 skyline also comented on the way that they setup the cars on the rollers and done the runs compaired to other places i.e they didn't run your car until they were sure the car was setup properly and they gave you 2 runs to show the consistancy of the dyno. I am quite disgusted with the reaction of some people I will definatly be back to re-check my bhp once a few more mods have been done BIG THANKS TO THE DASTEK TEAM FOR A GREAT DAY AND SOME GOOD BANTER
andrew_lally Posted June 28, 2005 Author Posted June 28, 2005 Nice one lessels....you know im a little sensitive about my very very slight hair receding problem....hahahaha......as they say "a rollin stone gathers no moss" hahahahaha.... iroc-si Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Gerry, Sorry if my comments about your setup sounded harsh, didn't mean to be that critical. The setup in general is great, with impressive grip on the rollers. The cooling side of things is more to do with the odd type of car that I have, and a little more experimentation would solve how to run it more effectively. I don't claim to have a normal car.... I would be interested in more details about the speed control loop, and am willing to help in solving the problem. As to the actual cause of the problem with my car, I would put a fair amount of money on the fault being that my alternator and wiring is not up to much, and when you tried to calibrate the system it could not properly detect the current pulses from the alternator as the load you applied (lights and fan) were probably taken mainly from the battery. To overcome this problem, using a lighter load would probably fix the issue (ie. no lights/fan). Also the fan load probably caused too much inductive interferance. You do need some load to help supress the noise coupled into the system from the ignition, but too much will swamp the alternator pulses. An alternative fix would be to have moved the point you connected to the system over to the alternator rather than at the battery terminals. This is tricy on most cars though. Anyhew let me know if you would like any assistance in testing any fix/work around. And once again, my appologies if my previous comments were too harsh. Si.
