evojkp Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Cal et al, Where on your Scoob do you find is the best places to mount the camcorder? Just treated myself to a suction kit and all the accessories and have tried mounting it in various places. Front and Rear window are obvious choices, but what about siting for public roads, trying not to get the attention of plod, although nothing illegal wll be going on. Cheers mate. You going up on the 27th??
john_robertson Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 How about beside the drivers A-pillar, inconspicous Looking at a possible for the 27th John
evojkp Posted March 19, 2005 Author Posted March 19, 2005 Had a play about with it earlier. Back passenger window, peering over the seat. Can't be seen from front, back or anyone passing on the offside. For track it'll be on the front window. If I've the bottle, maybe mount it on the outside for a couple of laps You coming up for a play then John??
john_robertson Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 Is it Top Marques? I think the Mad March run is the same day. Haven't decided which one to go to yet, might take the bike to KH if its nice weather. Need to organise a night for a few pints John.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 Hey Johno, Only used my camera once on the Scoob but mounted it :- 1) to the left of the rear view mirror in the front window 2) in the rear windscreen with the bottomn of the mount jammed against the headrest ( then put the paxxers seat down horizontal) These brackets are next to useless on curved glass ! I have also mounted it on the door above the front drivers side wheel. I just used the cheapo microphone from my PC and ran it inside the cockpit ( otherwise you get mucho wind noise) I recommend a lanyard though especially if your hitting the kerbs at KH at speed. Remember thet the KH marshalls will have to be satisfied that the mount is nice and secure before they let you on track Cheers Cal
evojkp Posted March 19, 2005 Author Posted March 19, 2005 Cheers Guys, John, yes it's TM between 9 and 1 and HotHatch 1 till 5. Pints!! Now there's an idea Cal, cheers for that mate. Never thought about lowering the seat.It gets a very good grip on the passenger rear window, which is onlt slightly curved. I think for KH, then it's a deffo for the front window. i don't want to be caught on camera 'bricking it' when I lose it We've a wee bit of a Sunday drive organised for tomorrow, so I'll see how it goes. ...John
