coulty Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 Will have the above off my car from the 13th March. Only been used for <1000 miles but i just can't get used to the noise of equal length headers. I want to go back to unequal length ones even if i lose power from it. They are in perfect condition as i do not use my car everyday. Willing to take less than than what the headers, up-pipe + wrap cost me and will include postage costs too. Looking for in the region of £360
spooks Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 Good luck with the sale, understand it to a certain extent but the torque advantage surely outways the noise factor? Spooks
coulty Posted February 22, 2005 Author Posted February 22, 2005 Hey Spooks Of course power is king but i don't get to use the power like most scooby owners and when i do drive her i like to hear the burble. I know that someone will love the extra power and torque the header and up-pipe will give them. Stuart
andrew_duff Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 I too have equal lenghth headers and must admit sometimes i would like a wee burble now and again but at full throtle it sounds like a tornado jet ... if you want to be one of the elite buy this .....oh and change your name to ANDY Andy
Carl Davey Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 In all honesty mate i'd be inclined to keep them.
johnnyr6 Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 Just up the boost a bit more and all will be well...
coulty Posted February 23, 2005 Author Posted February 23, 2005 << In all honesty mate i'd be inclined to keep them. >> Nah they are really not my style. Power ain't everything. Stuart
scientific steve Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 must admit that i do like the noise that my new magnex full system makes on my MY98 sti type r but am very interested in the down pipes as well, how much bhp do you think these make? and how easy are they to fit on me car ? cheers steve
coulty Posted February 24, 2005 Author Posted February 24, 2005 Hi Steve You are talking about headers and not a downpipe correct? Well the equal length headers and up-pipe can if used in perfect circumstances give up to 30bhp/30lbsft. Normally about 10-15hp and more torque. Just look at the WRC that has equal length and all the new jap sti's also. Ease of fitting? Well not altogther too difficult as long as when you take the nuts off the up-pipe to turbo they don't seize. Nothing much to worry other than a bit of time and loads of WD40 I can send you photos if you want to see them on my car. Stuart
scientific steve Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 well i could be after both as me mate has just got himself a scooby aswell and is after a few bits too get a few more bhp out of it if you could send me some piccies that would be a plus stevesmithm3@yahoo.co.uk cheers steve
