to be honest I only really use it when once I've got in the car to lean on while I get myself comfy.

Daft I know but really miss it for that will get it fitted this weekend.

Noticed your IAM link are you a member or do you work for them?

I'm a member also through work I have to take a defensive driving course every three years.

Do you think it is possible to apply advanced driving principles fully in an Impreza? Dubious one that - I think in general yes but Imprezas and total adherence to the System of Advanced Driving don't always sit too well together face-icon-small-sad.gif

Just waiting for my car badges to get 'em on the car. Do you use the badge?

I stick the window badge on the back of my mini.

not to sure what you mean really.

in my day to day driving I lean more towards defensive driving looking far ahead and all that looking for the gaps if any trouble should come my way.

I think in my mini I tend to be a bit more aggressive and use the advice on how to take the corner looking at where the verge meets then opens up and how to overtake.

Following strictly the steering principles, speed limitations, etc of Roadcraft will be something many people will find difficult in a car which is quick, rewards spirited driving, often on the wrong side of the national speed limit and has a certain expected stereotypical, aggressive way of driving - which is often opposite to defensive driving systems.

My main suggestion I suppose is that Advanced Driving (from Roadcraft) techniques are more important in a car like the Impreza because it needs more respect, particularly in terms of speed limits and defensive driving techniques - most people are relatively aggressive when driving them, not always to other drivers but "attack" the roads more often, rally style - I suppose face-icon-small-wink.gifface-icon-small-wink.gif

However, the way you drive may may not really be that different from one car to another - it's the driver who speeds, causes accidents and drives aggressively, not the car.

Any pics of the arm rest fitted?

Fiona - did you get my PM about where you sourced the armrest?

I'd like to get one myself, mainly for extra storage (use the subaru for work too so got lots to carry about with me) and would also really appreciate a picture of it fitted too if possible!

Cheers
