paulc555 Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Hi All As mentioned a few weeks ago I had a near miss in the car when it slid on a wet road....was thinking of changing the tyres and have been reading all the comments from the past on favourites etc.... just wanted to ask...as I only got the car 2 months ago..the tyres still have quite a bit of tread..but seem to have no grip in the wet...they are Bridgestone Potenza GII..anyone heard of these cant find them anywhere....they will have came on the car from Japan......any ideas about why they are so guff in the wet..but grip like he** in the dry.. comments would be appreciated....
MY94 Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 I had the same problem with my import at first. It had Yoko's on and they didn't like the rain or roundabouts.I put Toyo's on and it was much better, but still not right.I(read Dave @ AWD) replaced the front anti-roll struts with White Line parts as the original plastic one's were on their way out. Then I got Target in Perth to sort the geometry(to the prodrive settings). The car then handled much, much better.I don't have any experience of the tyre's u mention, but I hope some of the above may be of some use.
andrew_duff Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Jap spec tyres are not suitable for U.k weather or roads and I changed mine as soon as I read up on them. Also if your geomitery isnt right it will make your car twitchy as hell. As for tyre choice you pays your money you takes your chances but the Goodyears or Toyos would be my own choice. Andy
