AYRSHIRE CURRY NIGHT - 29th DEC

You can't miss it, its less than 100 yards north of the Taj on the opposite side of the road. It's a nice wee pub.

Depending on train times, I'd reckon on being in the pub for an hour prior to the time booked for the Taj.

Has a table been booked yet?

Dougster, if you don't want to take Andy up on his offer, there's always public transport.

I'll be getting the (Glasgow) train home. I believe it heads towards the Glasgow area. face-icon-small-tongue.gif

Parking not the greatest, but never had any trouble.Should be quiet on a wed. night!!

You could always hook up to the 440v roadside protection system available at every lampost,it's quite a deterrant, shocking in fact!!!!!

See ya,

Dave, pass on my best wishes to Sharon and I hope she get's better soon.

Wilky and I had our own little meet and toured the scrap yards of Glasgow and ate earlier in my village.

The good news of the day is my radiator is repaired and ready to go in and I have a new PS pump and tank ready as well.

Any time I ever go out using public transport it's always my intention to aim for the second last train. As always, I leave it till the last possible moment and might miss it. So there's always the last one.

So last night was no exception, yep I missed it.

So anyway I was faced with a 40 minute wait at the station. The waiting room was locked and the wind and rain were coming towards the platform so there wasn't really any shelter.

By the time the train was due (23:05) there were 8 other passengers. By the time the train was 15 mnutes late I was freezin ma nuts off. I pressed the intercom button only to be told the train was delayed and may possibly be cancelled altogether. He'll get back to us in a couple of minutes with any updated information.

ten minutes later, I called him back. This time he told us the train was now cancelled. I said Scotrail have a duty of care to provide passengers with alternative transport. He then became quite abusive and told us we'll have to make our own way home. So, I was faced with a £25 taxi bill.

One of the other passengers had no money and if he hadn't been going my way, he'd have been faced with a very long walk home.

So anyway two and a half hours later that expected, I arrived home.

Actually, I got the taxi to drop me off at the station in Kilwinning as my car was there and I needed my bank card from it. Geuss what arrived at the same time as the taxi. Yep, it was the cancelled train finally arriving two hours 12 minutes late. I'm sure you can imagine how angry I was after forking out for a taxi.

I'm now in the process of making a claim against Scotrail.

Just the latest in a long line of bad luck I've been having.

So anyway apart from that, I enjoyed my meal, it was a nice wee night out.
